right place, right time

well, u its over again, another free time period, in wich, Im having lot and lots to do, the fair its on feb, so Im may be sewing every single day till the 15th, good thing altough Im a lil bit scared about all that, about taking malecanto more serius and far away from how it started...
ever since I got back I got the strange feeling that I had to be there again, as if I belong there and my life here was just an issue, in part bc I didnt wanted to forget the things I lived there and the big choices I made, the people, good or bad, all that stuff that made me grow, a loot...
anyhow, yesterday I was walking back home, and I got the feeling that everything was how it was supposed to be, that I was so aware of what I was doing on BAs, and about not missing it, or forget it, that when I came back, this city and my life here was so unimportant that I was sort of not paying atention to it... but, again yesterday It felt like everything was falling into place again, Im almost done with school, Im hving Malecanto on B FW and the fair, and Im finally happy with myself althoug the boys part not so well; so Im in the right time, right place and I just dont wanna miss it, for beign missing the past and the old things I lived...
so, thats pretty much all...

I found this a while ago, and since, it had been on my markers bar, and its always a great site to look for inspiration, I love the post she make "lets Get Personal" because it about artists homes and gives a little idea about the enviroment the people work, and give me some ideas on how to organize my own space when I had the room for a studio or even a house of my own, bc right now living with my mom and brother makes things a lil bit hard on the design part...

Also yesterday I knew that Malecanto , my own clothing label has been selected to participate on Bogotá Fashion Week 2011, on a special part called "Salón Futuro" which means that I will have a space to show my stuff among other new creators... Isnt that amazing!!
I jumpled for about 30 mins and screamed al over the apartment!
so I hope you can have a look at the process organizing the shop for that!!

Today, haging out at my new malecanto sewing studio, I found out that Im runing out of clothing!! we coulnt make any great photoshoot!
so we have to start designing, drawing and then sewing something new, I have been having an idea on my mind and I think it could be under the "romantic" kind of clothing, so, searching online I found this really good photo, and then this really cool blog!Fashion Fleur

I know, I know, nobody is actually gonna follow me if I actually never wrote!
Im a disaster on it, even when I was little and someone gave me a diary, I only wrote every day for two weeks, and then the number of entries were low, until you can see some small story every six months... jejeje..
anyway, Im not so sure about what to post here, but lets give it a try...

Today I was organizing the new malecanto studio, its a small room on my bestfriend, now co-worker on the company, there, we have a sewing machine and an empty, closet, looks very empty now, but I hope that things work fine and by the end of the month we could have a great room, although Im not sure yet about how Im gonna work out the trips there... hehhe, its kind of weird for me to have an studio outside of my own house...
anyhow, Im happy about the new room.

Im sorry I didnt wrote before... i have been a little sick lately, so Im not aroud the pc too much...
last friday I made Muffins with my bf and we documented all the process so theres some photos I will be uploading soon I hope.
I have been also organizing Malecanto, I made a new label design that I will be using a lot till Im tired of it, or, make a new one.Im also thinking about opening a website for Malecanto, but since Im just begining maybe is just a waist of time.
What else?? jumm...
looking for lots of inspiration and a fine job that paids the bills!!

This week I was so lucky to meet an extraodinary photographer, that is in the city for a series of conferences about his work and also presenting an exposition organized by "fotomuseo" from Bogotá, an exhibition that is placed in the streets...
well, all this is wonderful, and its on a great timing since Im working on a project using the Victorian Inspiration and wearing my own hand made corset.
Anyway, I was abble to asist to both conferences in my University and I can tell hes such a great person, and hes work is just amazing!
I think I want to work on this area too, I think I could be pretty good at it and Im always amazed about this kind of work.

I have learn that whatever you wanna do you can do it, so Im not pushing my self back, so
this is the new Kforkuhkay, you may be abble to find a lot of things about my life (that I promise to make it more exited) and about Malecanto, that sadly, now belongs just to me...

Hola a todos!!
Hace unos dìas volvì de un viajecito de la universidad, fuimos hasta Buenaventura (nunca habìa ido) y tambièn pudimos ir al Nevado del Ruiz, un sitio increible y pude conocer la nieve y congelarme los pies de estar caminando a semejantes alturas...

En fin, llegando nuevamente a casa, estuve pensando en todas las cosas que tengo por hacer y por los nuevos proyectos que tengo que ir montando, primero, la u, tengo unas entregas por hacer, a ver si termino pronto.. y lo segundo es hacer de Malecanto algo mas grande y organizado, creo que es bueno que ya algunas personas lo conozcan asi que serìa bueno seguir con eso.
Algunos Blogs muy interesantes me tienen como intrigada por lo que se puede hacer con Malecanto...

A couple of Days ago, I came back from a lil college trip, we went to a lot of places till Buenaventura, (a city near the pacific ocean, it was my first time there) and also we could go to the Nevado del Ruiz, I an amazing place and I was lucky to see the snow!...
Anyway I was thinking about all the things I have to do, fist college, a lot of homeworks and projects, and also thinking about Malecanto, make it bigger and have it organized because I think is nice that some people now about it and it will be great if I can keep working with this...

Im Back!
Volví, luego de un largo viaje en otro país, con otra gente, con otras experiencias, afortunadamente pude viajar y vivir muchas cosas nuevas y aprender mucho, estoy contenta porque siento que crecí mucho como persona y como artista, porque encontré aún mas cualidades de las que pensé que tenía y porque me dí mi lugar y aproveché las experiencias que podía obtener allá, asi que vuelvo con más energías, con mas ganas para seguir y con la alegría de haber regresado de un país tan increible como es Argentina. Espero poder hacer todas las cosas que me propuse el 31 de Diciembre en Brasil ( si, también pude ir!!!!) y tener más cosas en claro sobre mí vida y lo que deseo hacer con ella, por ahora sé que es tiempo de terminar algunas cosas y de comenzar otras, de ser más independiente, constante y estable en lo que me propongo, asi que por empezar, actualizaré mí blog mas amenudo y los contenidos serán aun más entretenidos!!

its own like Ive never been there.
Its hard to imagine that I was with you at some point,
and the smallest time of it seems to be unreal.
the clock ticks and the time pass by on this old new city, no one knows about
street names or songs that talks about inventions, no one knows how my face went red under the covers when you breath.
And I still dont know how it end up, I still dont know if this doubt will fade away, I still dont know how the feeling is called on that side of the word, all I can know is that It was nice for a while to think that I had a piece of your mind ...

Los nudos se entrelazan agarrandote todo por dentro y dejandote un poco vacìa, con el sentir de los latidos a punto de salir de la garganta y con la noche mas vacia que antes. Mas fria, mas lenta que siempre...

new city, new life

primero que todo, pido disculpas por no haber realizado la "tarea" como se debe, y no estar subiendo cositas muy amenudo...
por ahora mi vida ha cambiado bastante...
estoy desde hace un poco mas de tres meses, viviendo en Buenos Aires, Argentina, conociendo mucha gente, muchas cosas y sobretodo, conociéndome a mi misma y entendiéndome un poco mas... aprendiendo a vivir sola, a "valerme" sola y a sacar provecho de todo lo que tengo, dejar de un lado las concepciones que tenía antes sobre la vida, la gente y como se hacen las cosas, siempre aprendiendo y tratar de ser muy fuerte, recordar las cosas importantes en la vida y enfocarse en ser feliz...
Aunque no todo ha salido como esperaba, las cosas han estado bien, diferentes pero en una forma agradable, llena de posibilidades, de encuentros y de nuevas relaciones.

Extrañar? si claro, pero en menor medida, menor que la que imaginaba y se siente bien, el poder llegar a ser un poco independiente y reconocer las fortalezas que tengo (ya lo había dicho antes...) que es siempre importante...
En fin, un año de muchos cambios y de crecimiento mas que intelectualmente y a nivel de diseño, e crecido personalmente y puedo decir que estoy contenta con lo que soy ahora.

Bueno, suficiente de análisis... aquí algunas fotos tomadas en Argentina...un poco turísticas

this one was about emulate an artist and I choose Lara Jade, a great photographer that I admire and I tooke a series of photography about her style... since I havent found a great model, Im the model of the shoot...

bueno, pues,
hace muuucho no entro, lo cual no me enorgullese, no es que sea muy constante con estas cosas, pero que se le va a ser, como me decia mi padre, los hábitos se crean, así q voy a comenzar...

Hoy lanzamos la convocatoria para MeltingPot ezine, nuestro (mio y de Mr Yourmung) magazine electrónico que trata de mostrar trabajo de artistas diferentes.
en esta oportunidad, el tema es Despierta, y pueden hacer lo que se les ocurra sobre el tema. les dejo la img abajo.

Otra cosilla es que ahora hay muuuchos blogs interesantes para ver, por ahora les muestro los de mis amigos cercanos

Felix Gonzalez Torres

Primero pido disculpas por la demora en escribir un nuevo artículo, no es excusa pero al inicar clases en la universidad, mi tiempo libre ha quedado reducido al mínimo.

En esta ocasion quiero compartir un pequeño texto que tuve que realizar como ejercicio para una clase, en la cual estamos conociendo indivualmente artistas para luego darlos a conocer a las demás personas del grupo.

Otra razón por la cual quiero compartirlo es porque la cantidad de información que encontré sobre el artista en español es casi nula y además porque después de leer sobre él me pude dar cuenta de que tenemos algunas cosas en común.

Eso es todo y aquí va

Biografía

Felix Gonzalez Torres nació en Cuba en 1957 en una

familia de lo que serían 4 hermanos, viajó a Puerto

Rico, antes de establecerse en Nueva York en donde asistió

a diferentes escuelas de arte, como el Pratt Institute y

el International Center of Photography, su vida transcurrió al lado

de su compañero sentimental Ross quien le regalaba gatos, Gonzalez

Torres formó parte del colectivo "Material" el cual apoyaba la

educación comunitaria y cultural. Sus obras a menudo invitan al

espectador a tomar parte de la obra y a llevarsela

con ellos, dejando de lado el lugar del museo y

haciendo que la obra tienda a desaparecer. Sobre su obra,

Gonzalez Torres la veía como una forma de preparación frente

a las situaciones que lo atemorizaban, la enfermedad y por

ultimo muerte de su compañero Ross, que al final fueron

la base de varias de sus obras al reflejar su

relación con él y la relaciónes que las personas establecen.

Los materiales que utiliza son variados y a menudo no

se es ajeno a ellos, dulces, extensiones de bombillos, relojes,

y torres de papel representan los ideales de Gonzalez Torres.

Su muerte a causa de complicaciones con el Sida se

dió en 1996.

En 2007 fue elegido para representar a Estados Unidos en la Bienal de Venecia, el segundo de forma póstuma después de Robert Smithson

"Untitled"(perfect lovers)

La obra conformada por dos relojes sincronizados a la misma

hora y colgados en una pared pintada de azul claro

trasciende a la par del concepto que lo justifca, los

relojes como representacíón de dos amantes marcan metaforicamente la relación entre estos y ejemplifican las relaciónes humanas en las que

las personas se encuentran en un punto común y que

luego por diferentes razones se desincronizan. Se dice sobre esta

obra que fué realizada por Gonzalez Torres despúes de que

su compañero sentimental fuera diagnosticado con SIDA. La obra se

encuentra en el Andrea Rosen Gallery, NY.

Clocks, paint on wall, Overall 14 x 28 x 2 3/4" (35.6 x 71.2 x 7 cm)

Untitled (placebo)

La obra está compuesta por casi 40,000 dulces envueltos en

plástico plateado, puestos sobre el piso como una alfombra, los

visitantes son invitados a tomar los dulces y asi contribuir

a la desaparición lenta de la obra. Se dice de

esta que representa la forma de ver la enfermedad del

autor, en la que si bién se dan algunos tratamientos

siempre son considerados placebos y que a medida que pasa

el tiempo van quitando vida del enfermo, casi como hacen

los espectadores a la obra misma. Esta obra se considera

parte de la exposición en el Día Mundial del Sida.

Las anteriores son algunas obras de González Torres, pero tiene muchas mas y aun mas interesantes asi que si tienen el tiempo busquenlas...

La semana pasada logré realizar una muy buena sesión de fotos, usando como herramienta el maquillaje y por supuesto mi cara, a veces me gustaria contar con una modelo para poder mejorar en muchos aspectos como fotografa pero mientras tanto no puedo quejarme de lo que tengo y que es indudablemente bueno.
asi que les presento otra serie de fotos en las que yo soy la principal protagonista y si han podido ver mas de mis fotos anteriores pues se darán cuenta de que he mejorado también en lo que respecta a iluminación, algo que también es bueno.
bien, aquí van algunas...

Bien, ya estoy por terminar el proyecto de Fotografía III,
Pie de foto, y aunque me emociona decirlo creo q aun faltan muchas cosas por hacer,
en parte logré algo que queria pero mas a nivel personal que fotografico, asi que STage One
is complete!

es complicado escribir sobre alguna persona, sobre lo que piensas de ellos sin sacar a relucir alguna anécdota graciosa, es simplemente extraño... podria ser aun mas facil decir lo que sientes hacia esa persona y ya,
no tratar de mostrarla a alguien...
y lo peor usando solo 10 líneas.

En fin...
es solo un primer post, espero mejorar mi escritura...
